Small Groups

St Matts is organised as a number of small groups which provide mutual pastoral care, fellowship, prayer and teaching. The leaders of each group are the first point of call for help.  Overall our aim is to grow in our walk with Jesus and make new disciples

Some groups are weekly, some are fortnightly, and one group is for men only and another for women. There are parents and new babies group, a day time group, a Sunday lunch and study families group, an emerging leaders’ group, a student group and a virtual email group. We also have a number of general home groups that are based on geography around the city

Twice each year groups follow Stu’s preaching through a book of the bible.

Each year we offer the Alpha Marriage Course: a 7 week programme for couples who are married or in a long term relationship.
Several times in the year groups will together attend the Discipleship Training events organised by our vicar Stu.

Pilgrim is an 8 week course written and introduced to St Matt's in 2012.  It's aim is to help people connect to church and develop a life-long commitment to discipleship with the Lord Jesus.  It will be led by James and Jen Allaway.  If you are interested in this journey of transformation, please contact them This email address is being protected from spambots. • At any time in the year we can  now offer on demand the ‘Good News’ programme, a four week series to explore becoming a Christian.
  • A series of short Bible study courses.

To explore where you might fit in and enjoy full fellowship with St Matts through a small group, talk to Stu or Mary Crosson.
